Start Indoors (Recommended for cooler zones for earlier blooms):
- After soaking/nicking seeds, fill biodegradable peat pots or seed trays with moist, well-draining seed-starting mix.
- Sow seeds ¼ inch deep. Cover gently with soil and press down.
- Place the tray in a warm area (70–80°F) with bright, indirect light. Keep the soil evenly moist.
- Seedlings emerge in 7–21 days. Provide strong, direct sunlight immediately to prevent leggy growth.
- After 4–6 weeks, when the seedlings have several sets of true leaves, gradually harden them off outdoors over 5–7 days before transplanting them into the garden at the base of your trellis or arbor.
